Jim (JB) Helbert, owner of Twin Oaks Turkey Calls was born and raised in South Western Virginia and has always been drawn to the outdoors. He owes this passion for the outdoors to his brother Glynn. He introduced him to hunting at an early age. As an avid outdoor enthusiast, he understands a hunters desire of having quality equipment and quality performance when it counts.

In the spring of 2007 Jim decided to try his hand at making friction calls for his personal use and to give as gifts to fellow hunters. The mixtures of domestic and exotic woods produce outstanding call sounds and are beautiful in appearance. The response from friends was outstanding and soon he began getting request for more calls. The business grew from there and today several Sporting Goods stores carry Jim’s calls.

Nothing gives Jim more pleasure than to be able to produce a product that is not only beautiful but dependable, reliable and affordable for hunters and collectors alike. Jim also understands it is about the hunt and the satisfaction of calling in that big tom.
